Located in Waco, Texas...where else?! The surprising thing is the remains found here are of Columbian Mammoths, not Woolly Mammoths. These were larger and less, well, woolly. They lived in herds in this area. Excavation is ongoing and expected to last another 50 years. There is a fee, not covered by National Park passes, in order to take the tour of the covered dig site.
