Valley Forge National Historical Park is located in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. There was a forge (place for making weapons, farm equipment, and tools) here, making it a good place to establish camp. This is the site where General George Washington and the Continental Army camped for the winter of 1777-1778.
Pro Tip: The parking area is downhill from the visitor center. Drop off visitors with limited mobility first, then walk up. Also, it's busy with school group tours during the appropriate season so expect crowds, especially in the spring.
