Located in Hyde Park, New York, just down the street from the Roosevelt Presidential Library. The site is dedicated to Eleanor Roosevelt and Val-Kil Industries. Several of Eleanor Roosevelt's associates would meet to discuss how to keep people employed through the Great Depression. The decided to start a place where people could learn new skills if their primary occupation failed. The cottage getaway where she came up with Val-Kil later became the retreat where she spent her remaining years after the death of her husband, FDR.
