The Old Pueblo. At least it's a dry heat. A university. A Spanish mission. Food innovations. You'll find it all here in Tucson.

Nav:

Arizona Wildcats: The locals are all about their sports, especially basketball.

Biosphere 2: The original Biosphere is Earth. This research project, located in Oracle, Arizona (about 45 minutes north of Tucson), was intended to be a project to simulate a closed environment for research purposes. There were flaws in the original experiments during the 1990s but learning continues today. A partnership with the University of Arizona is seeking to understand coral reefs, soil erosion, and other projects.

Pima Air and Space Museum: Also known as the Boneyard. It's part museum and part scrapyard. The gems are inside, the scraps are kept outside (in the hot desert sun).

Saguaro National Park: It's all about the famous cactus with arms at this National Park.

Nosh:

Zinburger: Great happy hour from 3PM to 6PM. It's a nation-wide chain but it's good food, casual atmosphere, and for half-price, why not?! The buttermilk chicken sandwich is the right amount of crunch without being too bready. The green chili fries are tasty but have a good kick so be prepared, with a frost beverage.

Saguaro Corners: Local spot that's worth a visit if you're on that side of town (or willing to be). Close to Saguaro National Park. The Green Chili Carnitas Mac and Cheese is legit. Skip the Chips and Three Dips (its house made chip but the dips are just BBQ sauce, ranch, and buffalo sauce).

Nip:

Borderlands Brewing: Located in downtown, the place is next to the railroad tracks.

Eegee's: It's sort of an Icee but wwwaayyy better. Never had anything that rivals this treat anywhere else in the world. Real fruit. Refreshing on a hot day. Can do double-duty as dessert. They also have pretty good sandwiches and crinkle cut fries, for a fast food chain anyway.
