Teddy Roosevelt was in Buffalo for the Pan-American Exposition with President William McKinley. Roosevelt was staying in the home of his friend, Ansley Wilcox, when President McKinley was assassinated and died eight days later. The inauguration took place in the living room / parlor of Mr. Wilcox’s home.
