Capital: Jackson
M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I. A state and a grand river. The 20th state joined the Union in 1817.
Mississippi State Capitol: The building is on par for buildings of this era (early 1900s).
Natchez National Historical Park: There are multiple locations within this site. I visited Melrose, a suburban mansion outside the town of Natchez (the previous capital of the state).
Ste. Genevive National Historical Park: The site preserves old homes from the French-Canadian settlement that was established here in the 1750s onward.
