Capital of Victoria. Pronounced more like 'Mel-bun'...there is a o, r, and second e in there but not when you say it. Reminded me of Gotham City...not in an unsafe kind of way though. Very metropolitan and lots going on.

Nav:

Shrine of Remembrance: Like other war memorials, this was built to honor the sacrifice of those in World War I. It has since evolved to pay homage to subsequent wars. It's an excellently assembled tribute to Australian service members.

Old Treasury Building: It's where the gold was kept back in the day. However, its is now a strange museum of treasury, war, aboriginal rights, and a residential home.

Queen Victoria Market: All. The. Things.

State Library of Victoria: Very cool, as far as libraries go.

Royal Exhibition Building: A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1880 and still used for venues today.

Nosh:

Costco: If you have a membership, hit that food court for a fix on that hot dog combo...or try something new, like Korean chicken wings! Walk the aisles and grab some local wine or produce you can't get at home while you're there.

The Mussel Pot: Located in Queen Victoria Market, this little trailer is a good place to fuel up for more adventures. The Steamed Chili Mussels have a tomato and chili base. In addition to the other flavor bases, they also grill oysters and sell them live for take out.

Nip:

Bricklane Brewing - One Love Pale Ale: A little hazy for a pale ale, which is fine by me.

Hawkers - Hazy IPA: I like those cloudy hazy IPAs. Glad its a trend right now.

Yellowglen - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Prosecco: I don't care for most Pinot, as I'm a Cab / Merlot kinda guy. However, this is mostly Chardonnay and Prosecco. Crisp and refreshing is a good description.
