Think of Peru without thinking of this place…hard to do, right?! This is THE thing to see while you’re in the country.
PRO TIP: Make reservations as far out as you can, but at least a couple months. Circuit 2 is the best, as it provides the most access to the site.

Aguas Calientes: Known locally as Machu Picchu Pueblo, this is the closest town to Machu Picchu and the place most people stay before or after their visit to the site.
For the ultra-bougie experience, stay at the Hiram Bingham hotel at the base of Machu Picchu, as long as you have a lot of extra cash to pay the tab.

Nosh:
There are a lot of restaurants to choose from in Machu Picchu town. I recommend Indio Feliz. It’s a French and Peruvian fusion place locally owned.

Nip:
Pisco sour is the national drink of Peru. Machu Pisco is the place to have it.
Mapacho has a nice Double IPA and some tasty fruit juices.
