This National Historical Site is located in Springfield, Illinois. Lincoln moved to the state capital to serve in the Illinois General Assembly. He purchases this house, the only home he ever owned, in 1844 following the birth of their first son.

Built in 1839. Lincoln added on to keep up with his growing family.
