Re-established in 1948. The only Jewish state in the world. Lots of history. Lots of conflict and contention.

Bet Shean: One of the 10 Decapolis cities. All built outside of Italy but in Roman style.

Capernaum: Hometown of Jesus and five of the Apostles during His ministry.

Ceasarea: A Roman inspired city with Biblical history. Paul the Apostle was convicted here and sent to Rome for execution.

Jerusalem: Capital city. Some of the most contested dirt on the planet. If you stop anywhere in the country, this is it.

Masada: The mountain top palace built for Herod, though he never actually stayed there. It was made famous when a Jewish sect committed suicide here rather than get captured by Roman soldiers in 66 AD.

Meggido: Armageddon. This valley is synonymous with the end of all things...but it's also a point along an ancient trade route, the King's Highway.
