This National Monument is located on St. Simeon Island, Georgia. It's location on an island is important to it's history. In 1742, Spanish forces attacked the existing British fort via the waterways. The naval battle, and Spanish loss, decided the cities future as a British colony.
There are only ruins left, and not many of those.
