We Like Ike! This is a Presidential Library, as well as his boyhood home and final resting place. Located in Abilene, Kansas. This fitting tribute to the 34th President of the United States from 1953-1961. Graduate of West Point, oversaw the Allied liberation of France (including D-Day),
He was promoted from a brigadier general (one star) to the rare and prestigious rank of General of the Army (five star) in just over three years. He served as Army Chief of Staff and Supreme Commander of NATO at the end of his military career. He was nominated and was elected President about a year after retiring from 37 years of military service. Administration accomplishments include establishment of the interstate system (look for his name on those blue signs along the way).

"The proudest thing I can claim is that I am from Abilene"
-Dwight D. Eisenhower
