Motor City. Ford. General Motors. Stellantis (basically Chrysler and a bunch more). The city has had a gritty blue collar reputation for a long time. From the people I met, I'd say they're proud of that today.

Nav:

Ford Piquette Avenue Plant: The Model T was born here. Henry Ford had another plant on Mack Avenue so this was the second. The place is basically a showroom for the Model T and some other cars from around the time.

Motown Records: The Motown sound came out of the Mo-tor Town (Detroit). This is a museum you can tour if interested.

Fisher Building: Completed in 1928, the building is a beautiful example of classy Art Deco. The building stands at the geographical center of Detroit. There are a few shops on the lower levels, with office space and an event venue on upper floors. I was there for the art and architecture.
Pro Tip: If you want to learn more about the building, you can read ahead or book a local tour guide. The Fisher Building site says tours are free but their concessionaire looks like they are charging $10 for a tour, only available on Saturdays.

Nosh:

Motor City Brewing Works: Pizza is called Mary Did Have. Basically a lamb gyro on a pizza crust. Feta, garlic, mint, pine nuts, labne kiefer cheese, tomato, and cucumber.

Nip:

Motor City Brewing Works: Kitty Hop IPA and Single Hop Pale Ale.
