Denver. Completed in 1894. Local materials, such as Rose Onyx, White Yule Marble, copper, and gold mined from the state make this structure a stunning tribute to the state. The 10 acres surrounding this site was donated by Henry Cordes Brown. The architect was Elijah Myers, who had already designed the Texas and Michigan State Capitols. The Senate Chambers were closed during my visit.
