Capital of Queensland. This area is renowned for those adorable furry little creatures known as the koala. It's also the home of Bluey (if you have kids and the Disney Channel, you know).
Pro Tip: If you want to hold a koala, Queensland is the place to do it. I waited until I was in Perth to see koalas and Western Australia doesn't allow anyone other than caretakers to hold them.

Nav:

City Hall / Museum of Brisbane: Colocated, these are two easy and quick ways to see highlight of the city.

City Botanical Garden: Not as floral as the other botanical gardens in Australia but still worth a trip.

Queensland Art Gallery / Queensland Museum: Some of the more odd collections in the country...but art is art 🤷

Nosh:

Finn McCools: Irish pub serving hearty meals. It's located on Brunswick Street, which has several restaurants and bars to choose from. If you want to bar hop, this is your street.

Vegemite: The stuff is awful...and I've eaten $0.50 escargot in Marrakesh (another story for another page). It tastes like salty Worcestershire sauce. Traditionally served on toast.
Pro Tip: Find packets at a restaurant so you don't have to spend cash to try something you're going to throw away.

Nip:

Stone & Wood Pacific Ale: Available at most pubs around town, I enjoyed mine with lunch at Finn McCools. It's a hazy ale, so less hop than an IPA. Light and refreshing.
