Capital of Slovakia. Like most capital cities in eastern Europe, it's located along the Danube River. History that dates to the medieval period onward.

Nav:

St. Michael's Gate: A vestige from the medieval city defenses.

Bratislava Castle: A castle has been on this site since the dark ages but the Hapsburgs moved in and had this structure built starting in the 16th century.

Church of St. Elizabeth (Blue Church): Built in the early 1900s. It looked like there was a service when I tried to stop (on a Tuesday) by so no interior photos.

St. Martin's Cathedral: Built in the 1450s. I didn't get inside this one either because it was too late in the day and it was a short trip.

Nosh:

Bratislavský Meštiansky Pivovar: Potato dumplings with smoked meat, steamed sauerkraut, cream, and baked onion.

Nip:

Bukák: Available at Bratislavský Meštiansky Pivovar. Dark like a porter or stout but more like a black dunkel beer.

Slivovica: A clear or light brown plum brandy. It's a shot of brandy at ~40% ABV so there is a burn but it's blunted by the plum a bit.
