This National Park is about an hour southeast of Grand Junction, Colorado. The site is impressive in scale. Smaller than the Grand Canyon but still large in its own right. You can do some decent hiking down into the canyon without a permit. However, you need a wilderness permit if you want to do any overnights or go further down.
