Famous for the Red Light District...but there is ssoooo much more to this city that make it worth a stop. To be fair, I only spent about 48 hours in the city so I left a lot on the table in Amsterdam.

Nav:

Anne Frank House: This is the house you read about in her diary. You can go up into the attic where she hid from Nazi soldiers. Photography is not allowed in the house so you'll have to Nav to this one in order to check it out.
Pro Tip: A paid, timed entry reservation through their website is required. The stairs are narrow and steep so be prepared when you arrive.

Canals: The city is a conglomeration of about 90 islands connected by bridges and canals. This makes the city center a great place for walking and bicycling without a lot of vehicle traffic.

Red Light District: I don't advocate for prostitution and believe most people in the industry are trafficked sex workers. I bring this site up so you know what it is. To Amsterdam's credit, they require a license to operate such a business in the city.
Pro Tip: If you decide to become a customer, use protection. Also, do NOT take photos, even if you're just walking through. 'Bouncers' are there and will take your phone if they see you taking pictures.

Nosh:

Kantjil and De Tijger: Pretty sure this was the place I ate. Regardless, Indonesia used to be part of the Dutch Empire so their cuisine has taken root in The Netherlands. It's a great way to take in the spices of the island nation without having to actually visit.

Nip:

Amstel Beer: The city is named after the dam on the Amstel River. What better place to take in a pint of the flagship beer?! It's available across the city.
